For designer Sara Steil Shuster, creativity defines her life. From her childhood days of creating Barbie clothes and furniture using fabric and tape, to embellishing her children’s clothes — one thing remains unchanged — her passion to create! Friends lament their frustration with her, “Can’t you ever just sit and do nothing?” Sara’s frustration is, “So many ideas and possibilities — never enough time!”

A graduate of St. Olaf College with a B.A. in fine arts, Sara has twenty years (not including the Barbie years) of experience in art and design. Her line of custom collage greeting cards and fine gifts was developed and retailed while Sara was still in college, and was sold successfully at national, high-end retail stores including Nordstrom and The Bibelot, Blanc de Blanc, among many others . The initial Artful Styles line has grown to include a full line of custom fine gifts, stationery, wedding invitations, programs, and corporate greetings. Sara’s work has been featured in numerous publications, including Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine, The St. Paul Pioneer Press, and Gifts and Decorative Accessories.

Artful Styles also encompasses Sara’s other true love, interior design. Her love of fabric, color and texture makes the newest collection of accessories and clothing a natural expression of her creativity, fueled by consumer demand. With almost daily compliments on either her clothes or her bags, Sara is excited about introducing her expanded line of apparel, accessories and greeting cards to retail stores across the country.
